It's been so long I don't remember this purchase, but I am sure they worked otherwise I would remember.

Buy them by the dozen because, on AC power, these bulbs have a very short effective lifespan.
The heat generated causes the glass to start darkening from the first use. In a matter of weeks you'll notice that you can't see the type very well anymore. This is because the bulb glass turns dark grey, so very little light can pass through it.

The Itty Bitty Book Light might not be a new LED but it gives a better lighting surface than the LEDs. The bulbs last an adequate amount of time.
